Chidi Adilih-Osim – Group Sales Manager, TTJ Magazine
My day in the role of Group sales manager for TTJ and WBPI starts at 6am with a cup of coffee. I then go to my laptop to check my emails, responding to various requests for advertising campaigns from clients, approving artwork copy for print and online adverts, checking updated mailout lists for customer services to send out digital print copies of TTJ and WBPI issues.
By 9am, I will have a zoom call sales meeting with my head division discussing the tasks of the day and week ahead. I will then make calls to my prospective clients from 10am, usually pitching new campaign solutions, online marketing products and webinar proposals. It’s always great to speak to clients as I get to find out how their businesses are and have a catch up. I go out for a dog walk during my lunch break around midday with my two huskies and this is when I am able to switch off, enjoy the local woodland to recharge my batteries for the rest of the working day.
Working from home gives me the full flexibility of doing a mixture of jobs, as I can write emails, get zoom calls and speak to my sales team and clients, build marketing proposals, approve newsletter and website banner adverts. I also work closely with my production team for print pagination, scheduling issue deadlines and pitching sponsorship for the TTJ Awards, finishing my day usually at 5pm. It is very dynamic, which I love as each day there is always something different for me to do including my travel to London for industry dinners and trade shows.
